Direct Thermal Printing (short term print) uses heat-sensitive label materials, that when activated by the heat in the print head, cause a change in colour in the material to create a printed image. Thermal Direct labels do not require a ribbon. They have a shorter lifespan than thermal transfer labels and are more sensitive.
